CIA is The Bridge's ongoing Church In Action effort.
From its foundation, The Bridge leadership has envisioned our church body being purposefully involved in the Stevenson community. Our coffee cart has always been present at Brews, Blues and BBQ. We have also participated in Gorge Days, the Fair, X-Fest, and Gorge Games among other local events. We join with other area churches to organize interdenominational worship opportunities, and partner with the local Awana's group that meets weekly. In addition to these efforts, The Bridge organized a local Advent Conspiracy effort in which our church members were encouraged to give to the needs in the community and care for their neighbors rather than spending the traditional amount of money for Christmas presents for friends and family. Our small church family contributed over $2000 toward utilities, food and other immediate needs of our neighbors.
Last spring, The Bridge began an additional effort to partner with our Stevenson neighbors. Our recurring outreach effort is called Church in Action (CIA). Our intention is to physically invest in our community by taking a Sunday away from regular church service in order to get out into the community and offer ourselves to help our neighbors with needs. About a month in advance, The Bridge will begin seeking needs we can attend to in Stevenson. These may include yard care, simple handyman / home repair, cleanup services, or any other projects a small crew can take of and complete in a day.
CIA:10.3 Our third CIA:10 day will be Sunday, September 26. If you have a need, or know of a need in the Stevenson community that we might be able to help with, please either send an email to contact us, or submit the information using the CIA Project form. We will begin making initial contact about potential projects a few weeks prior to CIA:10.3.
